Description

Our Introduction to Herbalism class is designed to introduce the field of herbalism through learning about cultivating common herbs and creating herbal remedies. We will cover topics including: “What is an herb?” “What is the distinction between herbalism and folk healing?” “How do herbs impact our physical and spiritual bodies?” “How can I make simple herbal remedies at home?” “How can herbs interact with prescription medications?” We will explore the use of herbal medicines from teas to poultices to steams. We will review common culinary and medicinal herbs and their plant families and the value of rooted ancestral herbalism work. This class is designed to be friendly for beginners. Access to a pre-recorded class will be available within a 72 hours after the live class. You can attend the workshop and participate fully without an herbal kit. Herbal kits include: organic dried jasmine; lavender; marjoram; cloves (may be substituted with cinnamon), a small glass jar, 3 small bags for dried loose herb mixes, and two sizes of muslin bags. Cost of herbal kit is $11 with an additional $10 for USPS Ground Advantage shipping.
