Jewish Herb-Infused Oil Workshop

There is a beautiful, ancient practice of anointing people with plant-infused oils in Jewish tradition, both for spiritual as well as for physical healing. In this workshop, we will learn about the Jewish tradition of praying psalms over herb-infused oils and we will explore various popular infused oils used in Jewish communities for spiritual protection, for beauty and for pleasure. This class will be taught from a Jewish perspective, but anyone interested in learning about Jewish oil infusions from the diaspora is welcome. During the workshop, we will prepare three simple, herb-infused oils to support us in the coming year. You can also attend the class without purchasing a kit or making an oil infusion. Everyone who signs up for a kit will receive dried rose and jasmine petals and rosemary leaves (note: participants will provide their own bottles and oils). ***If you want an herbal kit for the class mailed to you, indicate at checkout under registration options. Kits are limited! You can attend the workshop and participate fully without an herbal kit. Herbal kits include: organic dried jasmine; rose; and rosemary, and a small glass jar.
